Firstly, Merry Christmas to everyone.
The weather has been great this month (cool at night, but very warm
during the day), we have managed to get a lot of the finishing work done to
the lake extension (plus other work to the chalet & it's grounds.
The fish are still active and eating well in the late afternoon.
Well the lake is still not finished due to non stop rain that
lasted ten days. On the upside, the fishing is still good due to the warm
temperature (low to mid twenties °C)
October turned out to be a very nice month, not too hot (mostly in the mid twenties) and still quite dry & sunny. We have taken out the old hedge by the chalet and replaced it with a new one that will be kept trimmed to 3 meters.
The lake extension is almost finished and is 10ft deep in the centre, I will put some more photos on here when it is finished, should be done by the weekend.
Well September didn't cool down much at all with most days in the mid
thirties and a top temp again of 39°c. The fishing has still been good, but
mostly best in the early morning or very late evening. The end of the month
has cooled a bit more, still hitting 30°C now and then, but the fish are now
starting to feed more during the day.
This month turned out to be another scorcher (top temp 39°C) with most
days in the high thirties and also very dry.
The fishing has been pretty good despite the heat with plenty of action even
off the surface.
Water parks & beaches have been the places to go to keep cool and several
night markets have been good fun too.
Hopefully September will be a little bit cooler !!

Getting very hot now, the last two days have been over 40°C yesterday
hit 42°C so it was off to the water park for everyone. Despite the heat the
fishing is still good with a lot of surface activity, so if you are coming
here soon don't forget the dog biscuits & sun cream.
May turned out to be a very changable month, the carp didn't know if they
were coming or going ! We had a week that topped 31°C followed by a week
that didn't even get to 20°C so the spawning was a bit on and off. It didn't
seem to harm the fishing though, just last week there was 741lb 8oz caught
by the poeple that were renting the lodge.
The weather has certainly changed for the better now & we have been having
high twenties and low thirties every day.
We also have a couple of weeks available this summer if anyone is interested
This April has been a very changable month, the beggining was the best
with most days in the mid 20s but the last week has been bitter cold in
comparison with temps mostly in the mid teens Brrrrr.
The fishing has been mostly very good until the temperature drop last week
but the last couple of days has seen a bit of a revival with a few twenties
on the bank.
It's looking like the carp are getting ready to spawn with a bit of
splashing around in the margins but at the moment the temperature is keeping
them at bay. It will only take a couple of warmer days and I think they will
be hard at it !!
Best fish out this month were a 37lb common & 33lb mirror, there have also
been some very nice tench & koi.
This month started off very wet and windy, but for the last couple of
weeks has been sunny & warm (max 26°C) with the odd shower.
The first customers of the year arrived last weekend and so far the fishing
has been good with plenty of activity, the best tactic for the moment seems
to be heavy baiting.
The extension of the lake will now probably be done at the end of the
season, due to the weather that we had at the beginning of the month.
This month has been very changable, we have had highs of 24°C with lovely
sunshine and then wet and windy with temperatures in the low teens.
There will be a lot of work going on this month, the trees along the
drive will be pollarded (with the help of Dan & Scott once again) and the
lake will be extended at the end of the month weather permitting.
Happy new year and all the best for 2016.
This month turned out to be one of the warmest Januaries on record with
many of the days reaching over 20°C. The fish are still active and feeding
well because of this.
